Youthreach Bandon
Youthreach Bandon is a centre of further education dedicated to providing high quality general and specialised FETAC approved courses to early school leavers. Youthreach Bandon is funded by the Department of Education and Science and organised under the auspices of County Cork VEC.
Mission Statement
Youthreach Bandon provides an opportunity for young people to acquire the skills, knowledge and understanding to help them achieve their full potential. It is a safe and tolerant environment in which they can prepare for life and the workplace.
Aims of the Centre
- To provide a safe, tolerant, non-judgmental environment in which to work and learn.
- To provide programmes of learning that meets the social and educational needs of the young person.
- To develop and implement policies that promote good practice and the health and well-being of the young people and staff.
- To engage with other agencies and the local community to heighten the profile of the centre and the young people.
Youthreach is an integral part of the national programme of second-chance education and training in Ireland and is a central part of the Government's contribution to the achievement of a lifelong learning society.
The programme is directed at unemployed young and early school leavers aged 15-20. It offers participants the opportunity to identify and pursue viable options within adult life and provides them with opportunities to acquire certification. It operates on a full-time, year-round basis
